Our chicken is a heritage breed called an Erminette. They come from JHawk Farm, where they are breeding Erminettes for egg laying. They choose the best male chickens to breed, but do not have a use for the rest of the males. In the conventional food system, there is no way to get these chickens to consumers. Enter Nude Foods. We provide Erminettes as a super sustainable rescued chicken option for our customers. These chickens are pasture-raised, antibiotic-free, and fed non-GMO wheat and corn grown right on the property!



As a heritage breed, Erminettes are a little different than what you may be used to. They do not have the big breasts of conventional broiler chickens, are much longer and leaner. Their skin is also a slightly darker color. As a heritage breed, they are much slower growing (since they grow at their natural pace) this makes them more flavorful, but slightly less tender than conventional chickens.



Cooking Directions: How to cook a whole chicken



Ingredients: Pasture-raised and Antibiotic-free Chicken.



Packaging: A 2-pack wrapped in plastic.



Storage/Shelf Life: Keep in the Freezer until ready to use.? Remove from freezer and defrost 1-2 days in advance.? Should last up to 6 months in the freezer!
